Transport and Logistics

The transport chain involves activities in, and about, an enormous system of ports, roads, railways, freight yards, airports, warehouses, and distribution centres. Whilst each sector of the industry has stand-alone parts, none can truly operate independently of the remainder of the chain. The Transport & Logistics Training Package has been designed with this in mind. It assists you to develop skills needed in your workplace, as well as those that are applicable to other organisations or sectors of your industry. The skills are recognised as units of competence.

The Transport & Logistics Training Package has many units of competence. Several are common to all sectors. This overcomes unnecessary duplication and maintains consistency throughout your industry. This means, for example, that when you get a forklift qualification in the road transport sector and you want to move into warehousing, the qualification will be recognised in that sector as well.

The Transport & Logistics Training Package recognises that modern workplaces require a multi-skilled workforce. It permits you to select units of competence that reflect your diverse work role.
The package allows you to achieve competence in a way that best suits you and your workplace. It does not lock you or your company to a particular training
